Christmas is coming!

Christmas is coming!

Christmas is only a week away and I have nearly bought every present for my "family". Why I write "family" is because I actually see mother, brother, grandma, auntie, uncle and cousin on Christmas eve and on Christmas day I actually spend it with my boyfriend, his dad and my boyfriends godmother.
Now, every year it's getting worse to pick a present for his godmother because, what on earth are you meant to get a women you barley know?!?
My boyfriends dad is just as bad, all he says EVERY YEAR is that he wants piece and quiet. The boyfriend on the other hand is OK to buy he usually says he wants something that I usually can't get either because I don't have the money or simply it's not possible or in fact that he wants something that a child would ask for not a 27 year old grown man.
Now, I know I should be all jolly like the old fat Santa but every year it's getting really hard to be. Weather it's just me getting old I don't know or Christmas is the time for family and mines broken and perhaps the fact that a few years ago my boyfriends mum pasted away a day before Christmas eve I guess doesn't help.
This year, I have tried to make the house like as Christmas as possible, it's not like how the American's do but it has the Christmas tree and the dining room looks great with my wonderful centre piece in the middle of the table that I made out of a huge vase that looks like a wine glass and added ball balls inside it, a cone and some beads. (see picture below)
I am quite proud of myself for that and will be trying something like that more often in 2014. You know, handmade. Food wise I can make truffles and pizza from scratch I must admit I don't do it often but when I do there is a feeling of self satisfaction. I have also painted an old picture frame for school into a much nicer colour of white and then painted flowers on it and the picture? well it was just painted blue with old newspaper sheets cut up to make my name stuck on it. The smile I had on my face that day was great.

If you do one thing next year, make sure you make something from scratch!
Nothing to taxing at first, try what I did for a birthday or make a candle that's simple enough.
Go on, have fun!

I know I will.
